Bern constantly asked to go home when he already was. No convincing him that he was home worked since in his own mind he was not.
I tried a walk around the block and it worked some times.
One answer that seemed to work more often than not was to say 'We are staying here to night'. It was a short and simple answer which avoided the build up of frustration in trying to convince him otherwise.
They all want to go home but that doesn't mean its the last place he lived. Could be his childhood home which is no more or someone else is living there. You will never really know. I think your walk is a good idea as is your response "We're staying here tonight".
