Why is little a big word and big is a little word?
I was speechless. Ugh 🤔
I made it into the store but there were no electric carts. A worker was just plugging one in so I said i would take it. "Oh no" he said some one took it and the battery is too low it will be about 20 minutes but there are some up front" It is a superstore and I can't walk that far so I asked him to fetch one for me. he said he could not do that because he was not allowed. So I asked him to find someone who was allowed to. He was gone a long time and i thought he was hiding somewhere and I prepared to hobble to the Service desk and raise hell. Just then he rounded the corner riding in a cart!!!!!!!! He got out told me it was fully charged but he was not allowed to do that. So I thanked him profusely and climbed on board and proceeded round the store. Trouble was every few minutes it would suddenly stop and refuse to go forward. it would eventually start but repeated this many times, it did not matter where I was.
I than rode the cart out to my car and left it in the parking lot. A cart collector abandoned his string of carts and took it straight back to the store. Yes I know they are for instore use only but i was feeling really bad today.
After having the flu, I threw away all my pillows, bought a new mattress pad,
just because the old one did not dry.The process took all day yesterday, late into the night, a shower and wet hair.
Today, waited all day for a handyman to arrive, and I am just worn out getting well here!
Reminder to colds and flu survivor's: BUY NEW TOOTH BRUSHES!!
Veronica,
We are allowed to take the carts outside to the car.
You go girl! And feel better.
BTW,
If you say "I would like to drive this cart home!" or "I would like to steal this cart",
a very nice and solicitous clerk will escort you out and take your cart back for you.
File this for future reference under "Cart Etiquette".
Hope you aren't now banned from Walmart
You shouldn't go to bed with wet hair but hope you're comfy cozy tonight
I threw away mom's pillow which went with her to the ER -
I wonder why California is being so hard hit with the flu? I read UCLA had 200 ER patients in a day - nearly all with the flu
Plus one can no longer flip over the mattress like we could the older ones. All you can do is spin the mattress 160 degrees.
And I paid mega bucks for this nonsense :P
My SIL's late MIL may be the only person in the store's long and honourable history to have been banned by John Lewis - founded by a Quaker, "never knowingly undersold", owned by its staff and famous for its dedication to customer service. But then again, though may she rest in peace, it's quite possible she's managed to start a fight in Heaven.
FF you're an innocent bystander in the Bedroom Beautiful Wars. The standard depth for a mattress used to be 6-7" but is now 10-15", partly because of marketing-led oneupmanship but (I suspect) also because they're in cahoots with bedding manufacturers conspiring to make us all invest in millions of dollars worth of bedlinen.
The good news is that you're not supposed to need to turn them as you used to do. Though it could be just that the manufacturers are resigned to not recommending something that is beyond the musculature of most people who would do the turning, i.e. women, and let's be honest women of a certain age, too - how old were you when you first paid any real attention to mattress welfare?
I do still turn the pocket-sprung one now on the spare bed, but that is mainly to check that I can. More recently I invested in a Tempur for myself - and, forget it. Not only hernia-ready heavy, but bendy with it so you can't even get any leverage going. I've barely got over the workout I had getting it from one bedroom to another last time I changed everything round.
I hurt my knee trying just to spin it around
I kept my old beauty rest 25 years or so but my new one about 3.5 years old already is sagging in the middle
No wonder they say to replace every 8 years
The tall mattress helps getting out of bed in the morning but if you're vertically challenged you practically need a step stool to get in at night
Even mom's adjustable bed proved too high at the end of her being able to transfer herself so I bought lower legs which then made it too low to use with the hoyer lift
Eventually I convinced my parents to swap out the guest room mattress as I thought they hadn't had overnight guest in 20 years so I doubt they would at that time being in their 90's. Moving the old mattress was like moving a large rubber band, it wobbled so much.
Ah, much better :)
That was so very kind of you to like my last post!
You are the only one who has liked it. Amazing feat of informative writing, wasn't it?
And....you always have such good taste about things.
Thanks!
Now there are 4 people who liked my informative conversation, and also who have good taste when buying mattresses and reading dots!
I am wondering what would have happened if I put 4 dots (not knowing morse code).???
. . . .
Next mattress only will be thinner, solid, and maybe foam mailed to my house, popping open on arrival, and placed on a platform or something.
I dislike that I could never slip my fingers between the mattress and box spring to make the bed. This one is lasting way too long! Really wanting a change.
Hence, the 3 dots-I did not have time to type in the mattress comments and my computer is way way out of whack.
Making my bed has become such a production. I wanted it to look as good as the display we saw in the store so we bought all the extra fancy pillows and so on. Now I actually dread making the bed. It looks lovely when it's done but E Gads! Hubs lets me do it.Says I do such a good job of it. Sure, flatter me so you don't have to do it.
Or, sew a tab where one would normally lift it.
I recall when making a bed was a whole lot easier!
