Hey folks, welcome to the new whine/general topic thread. Feel free to use this thread to discuss anything that is on your mind. Caregiving- related stuff, life after a loved one's death, your own emotional wellbeing. Whatever..........anything on your mind.
If you are finding that you are being harmed (emotionally, physically, spiritually...) it is time to step back, re-evaluate and make some changes to look after yourself better. You are the only one you can change. I found I had to increase emotional and physical distance to decrease the harm to me. Less contact, stronger boundaries, maintaining the consequences of breached boundaries.
It's very difficult for a person who has been abused in any way as a child to caregive the abuser(s). Don't underestimate that or your need for distance from the abuse or your need for distance and time and support to heal.
how to find the magic wand against toxic people.
there must be a way…
if i find it, i’ll let you know.
:) night hugs again, from somewhere over here, to all of you somewhere there.
snoopy says:
“life can get a little bumpy. but stay on course and fly high!”
:)
snoopy says:
“stay close to people who feel like sunshine.”
:)
weather tomorrow:
snow + 1 lion
sunday (day after tomorrow):
cats + dogs + 2 lions
where do i live? very complicated.
but there are indeed weather-lions all over the place, even under my bed.
hugs from me somewhere, to all of you somewhere :).
Happy clock change tonight!
:)
hug! :)
i know it refers to the weather start/end march.
i’m making little jokes.
as to where, which country i’m in. very complicated.
somewhere :).
(lots of snow 31 march)
(hence, out like a lion)
there, another lion just crawled by. 🦁
goodnight :)
Not in the U.S., if boj is saying goodnight, she does not live in the U.S., where it is now daytime throughout.
Keep in mind that the "in like a lion, and out like a lamb" references the weather in March, not real lions.
on my way out from my blanket, to the window, i saw another lion crawling by.
i’m now back under the covers, and will continue reading my novel.
goodnight everyone!!
please try to relax. it’s tough, with all our love & caring.
return the love & caring to yourself. :)
my new motto:
keep calm and blame all things on murphy’s law.
bundle of joy :)
and lions walk about.
and now i’ll get under my blanket, while i continue blaming murphy for the weather :).
keep calm and blame all things on murphy’s law.
:)
Antarctica?
sometimes, lions even in june!!!!
crawling all over the place.
Thanks, Golden. I will say "I am a Viking warrior" to myself in the mirror every time I think of it today! Thanks for the reminder.
Out of here tomorrow! Check out is 10 so I won't be at the office at all as I will have the cat in the car. Another nice weekend at home. It kind of happened in stages. Last weekend I decided i.would go home for weekends, then the mattress that made remaining here impossible. Then to home Wednesday and back on Monday. I might feel like trying to get out of here today. We will see. This week has been STRESSFUL!
Add to that a meeting yesterday where the existing staff and consultants to the town just had no idea they were spewing incorrect information to an applicant. Applicant got so loud the administrator stepped into the meeting because consultant and applicant were trying to yell over each other. All good.
meanwhile, some quotes:
“It’s better to walk away than to tolerate nonsense.”
“I want answers. Tickle him until he talks.”
“There is no nonsense so gross that society will not, at some point, make a doctrine of it and defend it with every weapon of communal stupidity.”
“Always remember: Money isn’t everything. But make sure you’ve made a lot of it before talking such nonsense.”
I do admit, some of the story lines are interesting with a lot of good answers. Yet it does take our time away from those writers who really need our suggestions.
And it’s related to the “gossip” thread. I now opened that thread, to see if my hunch was right.
I wish everyone a good afternoon.
And I hope it all gets resolved well.
We all have such different tastes in what’s useful to read. I read a lot of posts - suddenly some topic I never thought would interest me, hides a gem.
But which threads are you warning us to stay away from? If you mention 1, it can help us figure it out.
