Hope im sorry!! hope you enjoyed it!! am having hotdogs tonight i will get around to eating better soon right now im eating for two and not even pregnant im so bored i just eat and smoke very bad way to be but the sun may come out tomorrow? then ill get motivated again?
Hotdogs with mustard pickle and what the heck cheese!!! I keep telling myself not to worry i can lose weight quickly????? ive been saying that for ten years! LOL

haha....I tell myself the same thing...and those hotdogs are sounding mighty good too...hahaha....thing is, I got used to cooking full meals for two for quite a while, then, just like that, Mama went to eating nothing but the ensure....trying to keep that interesting for her has been a challenge...and the thing that makes ME eat more than anything else is S T R E S S .....need I say more?? for me, anything BAD is good right now....and carbs are my weekness...especially McD's fries...I could just dive into a large vat of those....the weird thing is...while i have gained weight, it is the PLACES where it is that is bugging me...all around the waist and my upper arms...blech.....I love sleepless tops and such and now won't be wearing those this summer....and the waist....I feel like one of those little kids at the beach holding the inner tube around their waist....only it's permanently attached.....sadly...meals are one of the few "releases" around here anymore....that and my flowers...and all it does is rain lately so can't get out in those...and so I nibble...nibble...nibble.....and grow, grow grow....

You ladies are killing me here...another one of those "separated at birth" things.

I'm right there with you. I started working from home 3 years ago, and working 60+ hours a week on my butt in front of a computer for the most part started showing very quickly. I'm bigger now than I've ever been, and I hate it. I try to get out and walk when I can, try to get Mom out to ride along with me on her scooter (only successful with that once), and I keep telling myself I will start making use of the exercise videos available on my Roku....but....

S.T.R.E.S.S????? just cooked my hotdogs got my lovely buttered buns toasted WTF no MUSTARD! Instead of keeping a cool head and walking to shops to get some i burst out crying why is life so d*mn unfair! Carerburnout? even the mustard is out to get me!

My aunt and cousin took photos of me with my camera OH MY GOD i thought who is that fatty it was ME? that was it there and then i was going to lose weight that was last saturday? the thoughts of a strict diet are making me eat even more! But i have to ask THINK what the ONE THING i can change here well my weight i guess? Its the only thing that dosnt cost anything and that i can control the rest of my life is a mess so i have to get my head around this eating. Im just lucky im tall but like you say its all around the "bingowings" and "muffin top" shit did somebody say MUFFIN...........

I cant eat carbs i bloat and i mean bloat! I didnt think it was that noticeable to others until my mum and i went to a flower show.........on the bus i was offered a seat twice?????? THEN an old lady said i could go to the loo before her as she "remembers what its like to be pregnant and needing to pee"!!!!!!! Now the worst thing i couldve said on both occassions was "im not flippin pregnant im bloated" that would have been just too embarrassing for all of us!!!!!!!!! LOL

lmao here.....hahahahah...I know it's not funny....but love that the mustard or lack thereof caused such a panic as that sounds just like me....only it was the ketchup here...haha.....and thanks for bringing up muffins.....and as I sit here, I am now thinking of some mongolian chicken from my favorite little chinese restaurant.....oh the sodium, the sodium......followed by that thing that chinese always does to me...big nap time..... kazzaa you're killing me....

Well look at the positives we will get so big that we will not be able to look after our parents and they will be taken into care!!!!! -------- slowly raising my hand. I too, look and feel like a giant puffer fish, cept no spikes, just PUFFY. Feels like I gained 25 lbs in a nano second. Yes, around the waist, boobs, butt, arms and now, thunder thighs. wtf happened? Stress... causes cortisol which causes weight gain especially in the mid d*mn section. Add stress to a very long winter... POOF!

This is just another one of those vicious cycles. Can't exercise/walk everyday cuz it's cold, rainy or snowing. Still have to feed everyone so comfort food in the winter it is. Get fat and lazy... summer arrives, too fat and lazy and blah that I look like a beast with blonde hair, so now I don't even want to go walking. Even if I did go, mom walks s o o o o o o o s l o w I barely need to breathe. LOL, it's just easier some days to lay on the couch with an arm flopped off the side... swinging back - and - forth waiting for the clothes to get dry. Oh joy...

You ladies are hilarious!!! The only exercise I get is from my part time job. I walk back and forth alot and up and down the bakery deli dept which is very large at this store. I hear you on the weight gain or "shifting of gravity" to places we don't want it.

I am forced to cook healthy meals because my hubby had a stroke last September. Of course, I can do it on my days off since I don't get home until after 9pm and taking care of mom in the process, does not give me time before I go to work.

This week I am off 3 days, so today I am finally making the chicken I posted about marinaded in lime and chipolte, home made pico de gallo salsa, a small veggie tray from the grocery store. I am making a large batch so we can make tacos/burritos tomorrow. I have lots of decluttering to work on so don't want to spend hours cooking everyday.

I look like a pear with a spare tire in the middle. Because of my belly, I lose my pens at work, LOL!!.. when I bend over, my tummy pushes the pens out of the pocket on my apron, Hahaha!!

You girls are so funny, you too captain! Got some left over chicken in the frig so me and my dogs will share that, and I'll make a baked potato and open a can of corn. I scored canned corn for 50 cents a pop recently! Just me and my dogs & cats so I cook in bulk and freeze in portions.

Old friend coming from far away for the weekend so I'm busy cleaning, scraping up dog hair, washing drapes, shampooing rugs, the whole nine yards but I'm tired so supper for all of us and plop in front of the tv for a while.

bahahahaaaaa Kazzaa!! That's too funny!

I have a hereditary condition (thanks a lot, Dad) that causes me to retain water and have edema - BIG TIME. My legs are the worst. I take medication for it, which sends me scurriying to the bathroom 5 times an hour for about 4 hours, but if I take it as prescribed, I start experiencing side effects, so I take it when the swelling gets *really* bad, like it did today. I felt like the Goodyear Blimp floating around the house, bumping into things and feeling squeezed into my clothes.

Susan cut down on salt and drink more water and walk more i had this "water retention" its awful but i found water tabs help? I dont actually drink enough water sometimes none? i have to remind myself to do this. but i know salt is a nono

I seem to have missed all thes delicious posts. I don't seem to get notified most of the time. Right now I am being investigated for swallowing difficulties probably due to a food allergy so have lost lots of weight and don't have the slightest interest in food. I know I am lactose intoerent so have ordered a book to teach myself how to make vegan cheese. I do miss the dairy. I still have to do the allergy testing but it takes as long round here to get a specialist appointment as the VA. I wonder if they have secret wait lists for Medicare patients.

Last night I took a cooking class by a chef from Mexico. I learned a simple and refreshing salad, which I had tonight.
1 jicama, peeled and cut into bite-size chunks
1 cucumber, peeled and cut into bite-size chunks
juice of 1 lime (or 2 if they are small)
coarsely ground salt, to taste.

That's it -- just place is a bowl and mix.

When I got home I found a very similar recipe in a Mexican cookbook, but it used lemon instead of lime juice and included orange segments. I'll try that sometime, too.

With the simple salad we had stir-fry chicken in cilantro sauce, over linguine. Good stuff.

i like a good fruit salad jeanne but it seems so many fruits are preserved by irradiation or something nowdays that they come to maturity and rot , having never ripened . unripened cantaloupe comes to mind . hard , sour , apples . pears thatll take your eye out if you try to stick a fork in it .
ive ruined big macs and fruit salad , whats next ?

I like simple recipes. Now all I have to do is Google what a jicama is... Don't mind me, there's a lot of food names and ingredients I've never heard of when you all discuss what's for dinner.

Lastnight, I missed out on a free takeout dinner. Baby bro's girlfriend offered to drop by for a visit with dinner. I didn't see her text until 1am this morning...

57twin, when you start from raw bacon, how do you do the asparagus? You said that you pre-cook the bacon, right? Then do you just roast the asparagus (with olive oil?) and toss the bacon on at the end?

There are probably only a few more days to the asparagus season here (Zero asparagus at farmers' market Sunday -- stores have it from Michigan) and I'd like to try that.

(We are planting asparagus this fall.)

bookluvr, all I knew is that I like it, so I looked it up with you. Turns out it is a very healthy veggie! Lots of potassium, vitamin C, antioxidants, etc. Low calorie and low carb. Not many things I discover and like turn out to be that good for me!

Strips of jicama (hee-cama) are good on a crudites plate for scooping up dips. I like it in stir-fries, too -- it has a texture like water chestnuts but a fresher flavor.

And Captain, I wouldn't consider a salad of jicama and cucumber to be a fruit salad. :) Like your song lyrics, though.

Veronica, so sorry you are having swallowing difficulties, that seems like it would be a nuisance, to say the least. Hope the docs figure it out soon. Doesn't hurt to do elimination diet, get rid of foods like dairy that commonly do cause allergies and see how you feel.

I'm eating pretty poorly for past week, lots of take out and delivery of pizza and asian dishes... lots of fried, oily, heavy foods. By now I'm so sick of eating like that and I went to grocery finally because that was the real problem, I was out of most things at the house so just ordered in a few nights in a row. So back to lots of veggies. I'm trying to get nutritional consult for my father, either through VA or through his new PCP because I think it would help him to learn what foods are better for him... and he doesn't listen to me, he needs to hear from another "professional" source.

I am putting Turmeric on just about everything I eat these days. It has such a mild flavor and supposed to be so beneficial for you. It does stain things a yellow-orange color so have to be a little bit careful with it. But... yeah, it goes on everything now. :-)

if you are starting with raw bacon well any bacon I cook i lay flat on a baking sheet and bake in oven-less messy! make sure its about 2/3 cooked. After I roll spears on olive oil I wrap one bacon slice around each spear. I roast in oven at 350 for about 20 minutes. I live in Wisconsin and I will continue to harvest asparagus through July fourth weekend. We are usually pretty tired of asparagus by that time.
