tree hoppers think they need to make 100 bucks an hour. arrogant. find a maniac with a chainsaw and a wrecker truck and he'll drop it right where you want it .
think hilljack / mom n pop .. they 'll compete in this hard economy .

What on earth or where on earth is "waken" is it a beer fest OR a heavy metal gig? Have taken a stilnoct now so am fading off to lala land perchance to dream? I was in Germany many times they are funny (weird) people not too friendly but they do love their beer fests and heavy metal so i cant think why else you would go there for? unless you love frankfurters and saurkraut??

Made pizza for Father's Day since its one of my my dad's favorites. I used a DiGiorno Pizzaria frozen pizza for first time, then I put on some fresh sliced onion, sliced mushrooms, olives, some parsley/basil, sometimes sliced grape/cherry tomatoes but not today... and it ends up tasting a little more like home made pizza pie and less like frozen pizza. Dad liked it. Happy Father's Day to all the dads... cap... :-)

Allison, I love "doctored" prepared pizza. I generally start from a Costco 5-cheese pizza. Those are Huge and a very good basic start. I put on pretty much what you do, and also pesto, plus Canadian bacon and pineapple. Good stuff.

Had an old friend here for the weekend so dinner was roast beef, barbecued chicken, tiny potatoes roasted with onion and red pepper and salad followed by blueberry pie and ice cream. I'll eat the leftovers for days.

its raining . im going to go pick cherries in the rain and call it a shower . if there isnt any input on here by the time i get back ill pour em on the road and run over em with a truck .

For the do it yourselfer....you can hammer a clean nail through a board...pointed end sticking up. push the cherry onto the nail and it pushes the pit out the other side.......they also make cherry pitters....I myself don't usually bake with them, I just love to eat them, so I just gnaw the cherry from around the pit... :)

i " got " this . a cherry pitting tool was only 4 bucks at the farm store . im working on them now . im guessin ther'll be 20 - 25 pints of them . cool , im back in the canning business. they look delicious . i must have hit the tree at the best time , nearly everything on it was ready ..
son wrote to me , goin to chicago in a few days to see the grandbabies . probably jam up there on ike. ill steer clear around marion IN and judge haas .

I have cherry trees and have a pitter but sometimes it misses so I still look for those missing pits. Canned a lot of cherry pie filling last year. Dinner is meatloaf, rice and the infamous asparagus. sore throat from a dry cough and didn't sleep well so not very imaginative today. If dad wasn't here I would have hubby fend fir himself. Three weeks to go.

i ended up with 11 quarts . by dam thats 22 pints . one jar broke right away . still 10 quarts will do a lot of baking next winter .
i have a little root cellar attached to the side of this house but ive been with mom for 6 years and the cellar isnt complete with door and insulation yet .

now i need a hot plate in the garage so i dont heat up the bunker canning .

Sardines are great, depending on what you get. I absolutely hate the cheap bone-in sardines. Can't stand the "crunch" of the bones. (shudder)

I get the skinless, boneless ones in olive oil -YUM. Some good Omega-3s in there! Of course, I have to eat them outside, because they drive Mom nuts. LOL

I like sardines on soda crackers as a snack. On my first cruise I stood on the deck in the evening looking at a large school of fish attracted to the ship's lights. Turns out they were sardines. Somehow I doubt you can sein them from a creek, captain, but perhaps you can can some fish you find there.

I gave each boarder a cookbook and asked them to pick one recipe. Tonight we had Barb's pick, a wild rice salad with ham, pepper cheese, lots of veggies, and a dressing made with curry powder and dry mustard. We all liked it well enough to put it on the repeat list.

For dessert we had croissant, split, slathered with Nutella, and willed with fresh raspberries. Awesome.

Tried to have "interesting tacos". Tacos with no sour cream or cheese whats the point. did i say diets suck! Also tummy swelled up so im fuming as im wheat and dairy free since yesterday? oh i probably cant eat corn tacos now anywhoo am in foul mood my body is "screaming for wheat and dairy". Only ten days of this and im over the worst!! face looks less bloated and we are having a "heatwave" yes i repeat here in ireland we are having a heatwave and its going to last all week!!! Only bummer is the sun makes me hungry and a huge craving for icecream and i never eat icecream? when youre on a diet like this you just feel like life is just no fun BUT on a positive its warm and if im going to walk down the street without looking pregnant in a tshirt then i am going to have to stick to this. Bought a bikini today only to discover im a size bigger than last year but im not bringing it back im going to slim into it whatever it takes!! I want chocolate this dark stuff tastes funny!

Kazzaa can you get any kind of lactose free dairy in Ireland? Right now i can get milk and cottage cheese. there are also all kinds of fake milks most of which I don't like. One that is pretty good is almond chocolate milk. Some people with dairy allergies are also allergic to tree nuts, you sound actually allergic rather than intolerent as I am.

Ver! i am being tested in july for actual allergy so i dont know? i feel sick my tummy swells up and i get little red bumps on my skin but they dont stay for long. If i eat too much dairy or wheat i can get nausea and bloat like a whale! so yeh interesting to see if its an allergy. getting skin pricks done and bloods have been asking for this for years but its only now they are on medical card. I think its an intolerance but best to be sure as food allergies are quite dangerous if untreated. So i will now after these tests.
Off for my peppermint tea now!!! pop a pill and sleep as it will stop me thinking of food?? just hope i dont dream of a giant hamburger chasing me which is what happened last time i went on this diet.
Thanks cap now i cant stop thinking of mussels but there out of season here. I love mussels with garlic and white wine AND CREAM GOD DMN IT!
