Enloe Hospice was not supportive because we were living in a rural area when my father passed. They did not provide the same care and compassion they give people living in the city of Chico. The bereavement services they offer are a joke. My dad passed and they waited 10 days to reach out to me when I would call and ask for bereavement they would give me to a social worker or nurse who would just tell me to reach out to other places. They do not have compassion for the grieving process because they waited to call me on my birthday when I just started to feel a bit better and tore me down. And, proceeds to tell me how much more important her case load was and other clients who she was paid to help were. For a company to offer services and then not provide is unethical. They were not so bad while my dad was still breathing. However, as soon as he passed they turned away and were not helpful. So the whole year of bereavement services they are starting they provide to families and caregivers after the death is a joke and straight up lie. Butte home health and hospice is a much better choice and I wish my dad was on their program. As they were kind and more helpful when I reached out to them after my dad’s passing they were there when Enloe wasn’t.

I would absolutely recommend Enloe Hospice. The nurses and social worker we had were fabulous, supportive and helped us through the 4 week process of the death of my dad. What I was not prepared for was zero contact afterwards except they made the call to the mortuary to pick up dad when he died. I felt abandoned after having so much support and contact with them. Realizing they, the hospice staff, are dealing with death daily, they must have their own way of coping and protecting themselves emotionally. I caution people once their loved one passes, don't expect the hospice staff, that you got so close to during the process, to call and check in once your loved one has died.

Enloe Hospice has supported our family in the care of our mother for about a month. All of the care providers who visited in Mom's home were kind, professional, and compassionate. We were given every opportunity to control the care plan. A nurse came weekly to support us and to answer questions. They also provided much needed supplies to care for Mom’s needs while she was bedbound. A health aide came twice a week to provide a bed bath. She was exceptionally gentle. It was exactly the kind of care I wanted Mom to receive. When mom passed, hospice called the mortuary and supported us in that final step. I would recommend Enloe hospice to anyone who is caring for a person in end of life stages.
