In general, with dementia, there is not much balance, or this is not a CASE of balance. In general it is a matter of a spouse BECOMING a caregiver. There is honestly not much similarity between spouse and caregiver.

I welcome you to forum and know that the more details you give us, the more you can elaborate on your situation, the better answers you will get here. But we welcome you, and wish you well in any case.

Hi! you are a fairly new member on the site, and are probably not too keen on putting all your details out. It is actually very unusual for people on the site to know each other, and you should not be too bothered about a very remote possibility. I am in South Australia, so the chances of me knowing you are truly remote!

You can find out a lot of information just by looking around the site. In the top right hand corner, click on Care Topics, then on anything letter of the alphabet to find expert articles and also many many old questions, discussions and answers. Or click on the magnifying glass also top right of the screen. If you enter ‘caregiver versus spouse’ you will find a large number of other discussions that have included those words. You may find all you need there, or you may find it easier to be a bit more clear about how other input can be of help to your own situation. Best wishes, Margaret

It’s not about people knowing each other. Forum members are very unlikely to do something bad about another member’s privacy or identity.

It’s about outside people. Hackers. People suddenly exposing ID…IP addresses…email…one’s identity.

I think it’s good for all of us to be careful. You never know. Suddenly a hacker comes along.
