Mom moved in with us a year ago. When she sold her house 6 months ago, we had a lease agreement written up for her to pay us rent every month. I recently left my job to be her full time caregiver and we all (me, my husband and mother) moved to Florida. Can I get a lawyer to draft a caregiver agreement for me to get paid for taking care of her without it affecting Medicaid eligibility should we need to apply in the future? She’s allowed to pay caregivers if needed so why would it be an issue because I am her caregiver instead of a stranger? A
