I just lost my Father... He was receiving both Aid & Attendance as well as his Army Pension...his checks were direct deposited durning the first few days of every month. Will he be getting one more check at the beginning of November paying for October or are the checks that are deposited at the beginning of the month paid for that month? He is divorced and I am his only child at 53 years old... I just don't want to spend any money that may have too be returned at some point on funeral expenses etc...
I'd suggest you call the bank Monday AM & speak with a bank officer to see if the account can continue to stay open. For my moms account, I'm a signature on her account & went back in August (moms in hospice now 16 mos so realistically it's soon) to the bank to make sure it can stay open. I'm doing this as I want a local bank to be able to use for checks related to probate or other costs & didn't want account frozen. All good hopefully. Dealing with frozen account is tedious.......
