Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or ConsumerFeedback@aplaceformom.com to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. APFM does not (and may not) require or even ask consumers seeking senior housing or care services in Washington State to sign waivers of liability for losses of personal property or injury or to sign waivers of any rights established under law.I agree that: A.I authorize A Place For Mom ("APFM") to collect certain personal and contact detail information, as well as relevant health care information about me or from me about the senior family member or relative I am assisting ("Senior Living Care Information"). Cheryl, check out your local Senior Center gift shop. Often people donate packages of adult diapers to these types of places, if they were previously in the caregiving or Hospice carer role, and their loved one has passed away, leaving them with excess supplies.
I know that I have a bunch of packs that I intend on donating, but haven't gotten around to it yet, following the car of my FIL on Hospice, and he passed away last September. I'm STILL uncomfortable entering the room where he passed away!
I often but my blue chuck pads at our local SC gift shop, to use for my dog as wee-wee pads near our back door at nighttime.
I think Medicare only pays for Depends is when ur on Hospice. Call a visiting nurse assoc. and see if they get diapers donated. They may give you some. I also bought pull ups from Walgreens using their Surenity brand. Like said, they have buy one get the second 50 % off sales. They also have a monthly booklet where they may offer a $5 coupon for a bag.
My mom has Medicare and Medicaid but on a fixed income and expenses for me to get the pull ups and diapers, pads and wipes I live in Louisiana any advice would be appreciated
I've been getting them at Walmart for my dad, not too pricey. But I will check Costco this weekend to buy in bulk. He likes the pull ups. Calls them his emergency pants.
Medicaid provides incontinence supplies (at least in this state). Contact your case worker to learn how to order them. Typically you are given a contact point, order on the phone, and they are delivered to your door.
If the person who needs them has Alzheimers or Dementia they might already qualify for hospice and if they do, these supplies are free from hospice. Alz and dementia patients can often qualify for hospice much sooner than those with other illnesses.
You can join Freecycle in your community. Once in awhile someone no longer has any use for them and will gladly give them away. However, that doesn't keep you supplied. I have also found some in thrift stores (usually larger sizes, though) and flea markets/swap meets. I rarely have had to pay full price for them, and my mom has been with me for a year and a half now.
Sams club. They have a protective underware that is for men or women...they are pull up. It is their brand.....for 72 in a box, large size..less than $31 per box...AND THAT INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING. We have been ordering 2 boxes at a time for several years. They also carry the diaper style and also pads. Not only is the shipping Nice since we are 80 miles away....but it's The cheapest we have found. Look at their website, under health then incontinence. Good luck to you.
