Find Care & Housing
I didn't end up buying one because my parents moved out of their home instead so I have no practical experience but when I researched them 3 years ago I thought Acorn Stair Lifts was the way to go. Because of the way a track is installed on top of the existing stairs and floor, their product easily accommodates turns, even a 180 at top or bottom, and could be easily removed when no longer needed. As I remember, their product took the least space out of the stairway, had a battery backup so it operates when the power is out, a good safety stop, and was one of the better priced units. I would recommend starting your search with Acorn.

I don't have any information on a particular model, but, I just wanted to add that as you research the item, I'd explore if the person who will be using it is able to mentally and physically able to manage it. I've read that it might be difficult to mange if the person is resistant or not able to stay seated.

My neice was going to have one fitted for my sister (who now lives with her) but the cost was exorbitant for their purses. It was cheaper and easier to move her room downstairs and make the downstairs loo into a loo come shower room.

But I peeped on-line and found you this one. Hope it helps

An AmeriGlide Platinum Stair Lift can be customized to fit virtually any staircase, including the popular L-shaped design. Homes with stairs that have a 90-degree turn are among the most popular types of staircases in the world, so we have worked hard to make sure that manufacturing and installing the “L” shaped stair lift rail is the simplest of tasks for us.

Good luck
