Has anyone else thought about this? If we could find other caregivers in our area we might be able to help each other care for our loved ones?

I know Alva that would be great socialization for our our loved ones as well. You made me think about The Golden Girls show. Thanks for your post.

I so often think about this. I think that many areas have Elder care communities and Senior Centers with Caregiver support groups. It would be so good to be able to get some of the elders together to chat, have a little lunch, and give one another a break. I always wonder why more elders don't room in with one another as well. I don't mean in the throes of dementia, but well before that, when say one is more able to do this and another more able to do that. One likes to clean, one can still drive. It would help. I guess the truth is that roommates aren't always easy. And sometimes with elders it is just too much to think of packing up and going anywhere, even across town. I think it is such a good idea, though.
Church groups, whatever. This is going to be more and more an aging community. I hope it will happen, what you suggest, more in future.
