In addition to the community college (that's where I took my class), check with your state's workforce commission or whatever they call the employment agency for any financial assistance. In my class, there were students who went that route and were presented with the course material in advance along with financial assistance. Granted this is Texas and it was about 12 years ago, but it would be worth checking into.

Nojoy is correct in that at least some nursing homes train new hires, but they do have to work it off at that location.

You might also check at your local nursing homes. In some states they are allowed to offer classes for people wanting to be a CNA. Often these classes are free if the person will agree to work for the facility after completion. Check it out. You might also want to check with your local job service center for suggestions on where to get training. Good Luck

Johnsrose, google "cna classes near you Virginia" and go to the website of the same name.... see the list.... as for the cost you will need to contact each place.

Hope you find what you are looking for :)

CNA training is done at many community colleges. Check into it and their financial aid.
