I have called several lawyers in Washington DC seeking guardianship for my mother. Some have not returned my calls, others took messages and said they would return my call. I also spoke to AARP Legal in DC. I've downloaded the forms, but I have so many questions.
Because elder law is their specialty I have found that they are not as expensive as an attorney that has to do research to properly represent their clients. And most of them offer free consultations.
Good luck. Such a difficult journey.
- Findlaw.com (and then look for elder law and estate planning) Make sure that their caseload is mostly elder law (some list their percentages).
