It will be difficult for the agencies to find people who will be working on the books. Anyone here concerned about finding employees?

Find Care & Housing
I think you may see some employers choose to lay off some employees instead of reducing their hours because they know the person will get full wages (or maybe more) during the 4 months of extended unemployment. So instead of reducing hours so everyone gets to work some, the employer may choose to work some employees full time and lay off others - so everybody gets a full check.

Unless they are laid off by the agency, why would you worry? Usually when you quit, you aren’t eligible for unemployment.

Thanks for calming me down.  It will be a new world.  The rules seem to be so unfair -- to people who don't get laid off.    I think a worker can quit one job for another, get laid off and then qualify.  But not many hiring

My advice is not to panic. This is not going to last forever, If everyone does what we need to stop the spread of this Virus, the sooner we can get back to business. You will have to get inventive with health adds and book keepers can work remotely. You can also ask these agencies for suggestions.

Aids cannot work remote, but I am not panicking yet.

The payment is going to people who have been laid off and qualify for unemployment insurance. I would be surprised if there were a lot of layoffs in home health care field...or any health care area for that matter. You still aren't eligible for unemployment compensation if you quit your job.

If you were hoping to hire a retail clerk, waiter or a housekeeper to help you, the fact that unemployment insurance will now cover many people's monthly expenses will make that harder to do for the next four months.

I feel really bad, it is so unfair that some people will get paid more than they got while working.  I wish they gave more on the 1200 and not so much on the unemployment increase.   I don't know how they will monitor quits v. layoffs.

Yes, Ff is right. Plus, this $600 a week isn’t forever.

Florida, I doubt the extra money from the U.S. government would cause people to leave their jobs. Said extra money will help those who had max out their credit cards buying extra food, toilet paper, Lysol type products, and other necessary supplies to have on stock as we ride out this C-19 virus.
