I wouldn't think so--but I'm no expert. Contact your SS office and let them know what you're doing. The ins and outs of Social Security is a real mind bender. Just at the time of life when you are least able to grasp a ton of new 'knowledge' and they throw SS at you.

It's not Social Security Income, it is SSI. Supplemental Security Income is needs based and is affected by Income the recipient earns. Social Security retirement benefits do not decrease because you have other Income. Not sure if this is the OPs question or if it has to do with sharing housing costs or something else.

Are you saying that your mother pays you for your caregiving help and wondering if this extra income impacts your Social Security Income?
