I am 62 years of age and have been Brain Injured since 1999. So, I was never old enough to look for this kind of help that I am asking for. I have a Guardian and a Case Worker who have been in charge of my living conditions.
It has been horrible having to live where I do not want to. I would like to live in the North/Northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities. My Daughter and her newborn live in Big Lake. I would like to be closer to her. Can you assist me?
Maybe there is a reason you need to live where u do, money. Seems you are competent enough to use a computer can you not get your guardian and caseworker to help you go where you want? Like said, get your daughter involved.
If they deny the request I would ask them why. It may be there are not enough beds available in that city (I know Big Lake, my stepMIL lives there and it's not nearly as big as Minneapolis). Even if they can get you closer, like to Monticello or Rogers, it would be a reasonable compromise -- for now. I wish you much success in moving closer and finding a better facility!
