Trying to make a phone call has become more stressful than caregiving, could probably get through to POTUS 1st! Start w/ “ this call may be recorded etc. etc.” followed by COVID info in English then is Spanish (!), what # to press for what, then an ans. finally! Asked to explain need or problem then “ just a moment I’ll transfer you.” 21 moments later call is lost. Have to start from scratch!! I’ve put phone on speaker and have cooked a meal or cleaned up after one while on hold.
One call 47 minutes, 3-4 of it in conversation. Another 54 minutes.

Has one of them EVER actually answered an actual question??

Welcome to our automated world! It’s incredibly frustrating to make a simple phone call today. I agree that using the speaker on our phones is the only way to go.
Wishing you all the best!
I do what you do and put them on speaker, so I can go about my day getting things done while on hold. That way it helps to curb my aggravation for being on hold for so long. I do though always let them know how long I've been on hold,(once they pick up) to try and make them feel bad. I'm sure they really don't give a rats a**, but it makes me feel better.
