If you Dad is a Vet, the VA has a program called "Aid & Attendance". Caregivers get paid to care for parent. I do this with my Dad who also is in end stage COPD with CHF & AFib. I found them thru the VA website and it's a fairly easy process. We had filed in November and our first payment came in January. Dad is on Hospice now since May, an I live with him as his caregiver.
Check into the VA.....it is a great thing! Good Luck.

Your dad's doctor can order home nursing care for him if he has a medical need. Medicare doesn't pay for 'custodial care' in one's home. If he's eligible for Medicaid, they may be able to help. A number of states have a special program that will pay some form of compensation to family caregivers . . . if the need is there and certain conditions are met.

Call your local Medicaid office. They'll have complete information.

what I would do is try to fine someone that you know that are certificated,as a caregiver and have them to take care of your father while you work.
