per medicare.gov under home repair and modification.
Occupational and physical therapists are helpful in suggesting additional ways to adapt your home for safety and accessibility. We did not apply to medicare when we got ours a few years ago but shop around we got the firsr ones out which was made in anothrey and the salesmen did not tell us the real details he said the step up was 6 in. and it turned out to be 12 in which was not good for my husband and the workmenship was not that great it was hooked up wrong and the tiles came up due to leaking if you are getting on check with all the companies and get the price in writing someone else got one right after we did -same company and they paid 2 thousands dollars more than we did now this company is going by another name-having said all that is was good for my husband as long as someone could help him get in and we did make a step so with help he could get in it but the floor was suppose to be non slippery and it was instead very slippery we got strips and put on the floor and put a towel on the floor of the tub when he got in and out of it so make sure you question the salesmen they can be slick and try to see an actuall model of one before you buy at a showroom or some fairs have them on display.
