Hi my mom was told by 2 doctors that she was at stage 7..so for the last 2 months she has not been eating or drinking well been sleeping a lot losing weight loss control of her bowels and urine..well the last 72 she did a complete turn around..eating better not sleeping as much drinking good and seems like her old self..can stage 7 do this..confused daughter..do not get me wrong but I am so pleased..and she has been on hospice for 2 months..will they take her off of hospice..I love her being on hospice because of the care and extra help they give her..thanks
Both my parents rallied while on Hospice. Mom started eating again for a couple of days, but then she stopped, went back into her coma state. She was in last stage dementia caused by a serious fall.
My Dad wanted to get out of bed, eat, watch TV, and was talking to everyone. That last about 2 or 3 days, then he went back into his coma-like state. Dad had in early dementia but he also had aspiration pneumonia.
Both my parents were in their mid to late 90's.
Yes, your mom may improve to a point that she may be discharged from hospice. Time will tell. It is a helpless feeling, isn't it?
