Find Care & Housing
"She says she won't go unless Dad does, or passes." There is the entire story right there. Give them some temporary time apart, keep assessing the situation, separate them if they are going to hurt each other. Increase visits, make them unannounced. Find out what Mom really wants. Since we all don't get what we want all the time, make some adjustments so each has a little of what they want. This can be changed if we don't panic. What do you think, about now? Would like to hear back if you have a solution so I can help someone else. This is harder on you when it is your own parents. Take people with you to their house.

I know a couple that was married for at least 40 yrs...they couldn't stand each other. In their early 70's the wife moved out...and...about 4 or 5 months later...they moved back in with each other because they were sooo afraid to be alone!!! Now they are much nicer together and living just fine. Like I said...you never know...a temp moving apart is a good start. Please keep us posted.
