In my opinion and based on my experience as director of such facilities, it is absolutely not okay. My suggestion would be to schedule an appointment with the director of the facility, yourself and your father. Ask the director to explain how to "gift' or "tip" the community. We held an employee appreciation fund and then upon occasion, we had a celebration whereby all associates would know their hard work and dedication was appreciated. (ie, dishwashers, housekeepers, activity associates and caregivers alike shared in the celebration)
