The appointment that I made for my mother at the gastroenterologist she never went they told her she needed to have a colonoscopy done she never did it. She weighs 130 pounds, she was weighing 170 before. She has diarrhea every day anything she eats she goes right to the bathroom and has diarrhea. I’m scared that she is sick and doesn’t want to find out what’s wrong with her and she's giving up I don’t know what to do. She is still young she’s only 60 but recently lost my stepdad from liver cancer.
Of course she may have something else but this is an easy start to narrowing down her issues.
My mom had the same problem, also for as long as I could remember. Yes, your mom is quite young and should have a colonoscopy. Colon cancer is preventable and treatable many times if caught early. My mom did not have colon cancer.
My mom's D was a life long issue for her and got worse as she aged. One day when I had her to the gerontologist he suggested adding a probiotic to her medication regime. It was a long awaited miracle for my mom. It was such a difference it was hard to believe. I got her Walgreens Super Probiotic.
Though we occasionally had the opposite problem. Mom had Alzheimer's and I believe she did not know how to have a normal BM. Had to take her to the ER a few times because she would get blocked up and not able to go. Once the nurse told me I could do the enema at home. Nope! That was something, I as her caregiver, was not going to do. One of my lines in the sand.
