Urine smell is disturbing family and other guests; how can it be treated ?

Inquire casually with the staff about how they manage this. This might be a sneaky way to find out if they feel understaffed/overworked and things are slipping.

Talk to the administrator's office about it formally. I would go in there with some records, so they know you aren't just complaining about a one time situation they can easily dismiss.

Not being changed often enough will result in rashes, sores, and urinary tract infections in your loved one.

I will cut staff some slack because with some patients who are combative, changing them is quite the undertaking. It's hard to clean somebody up who is fighting you.

There should not be a smell of urine in a nursing home if clients are changed promptly, trash emptied tegularly and floors cleaned properly.
