My brother lives with them but is not cut out to be a caregiver. My mom is a stroke survivor, my dad has Parkinson's - they don't want to leave the house and they have used all their retirement savings. We do not have the financial ability to support them. It is hitting crisis mode with my brother, I am afraid someone is going to get hurt
If brother is just not a very good supervisor, talk with Area Agency on Aging and find out if they could get on Medicaid and see about community waiver services in addition to the brother; which might help them stay at home.
If it is not possible for them to stay in the home, they may have to sell and use whatever income they have for buying in and then renting or monthly fees in an independent or assisted living community - some start with reasonable fees that include all utilities and some meal services, and might lead to life care if their needs increase.
