My wife is in a private pay Board and Care in California. Her only income is SS. WE file a joint return. We have Medicare and private medical insurance but not long term.
She is in Hospice because she has dementia & diabetes and is in decline (bed bound, incontinent, etc.). Is her rent paid for the Board & Care tax deductible?

April is getting close. I hope you are not trying to do ur own taxes. I think you would be better off paying the money for a good tax prepayer, maybe one with a CPA.
