She is in a nursing home bedridden with some cognitive dementia. Her home needs to be sold to supplement her care in the nursing home as we have used a large portion of her financial investments. No one will be living in her home as of May 2017 I am currently living there until then
If Mom's home needs to be updated, it is easier and quicker to sell "as is". I did that with my Dad's house. I did get a licensed Appraiser to come in to give me a price, and I used that as my guide for the real estate Listing Agreement and for a Contract when presented. It was nice to have that equity sitting in Dad's account to use for future care. And me not worrying about the house, whew. Emptying it was a bear.
