I got caught using on the forum again and my daughter would like to ask a question. Most of you know my daughter by now as I write about her a lot. You can check out my profile if you don't know :0)
Soooo- her question ( modified a wee bit for the site):
What are your elders' favorite foods?
That is such a sweet offer!!! And so cool that you are a chef! We just have to stay away from gluten and she has to watch her sugar intake. And she needs lots of fiber. She is a pretty good eater-not too picky, actually. We do not eat a lot of mammal . We are fish and chicken and turkey eaters. The only things I cannot get that girl to eat are raw veggies. Even if they are shaped like stars or hearts or friggin' Sponge Bob she won't eat them. Except lettuce and spinach in her salad. For breakfast she has been eating egg white veggie (cooked) omelets-with just a tiny sprinkle of cheese. We have to watch her cheese. She loves cheese.
If you have any ideas just post them on my wall!!! That would be so awesome!
:0)
I used to be a chef (in my former life) and if you tell me Sophies restrictions, likes, and dislike....I could come up with a few fun Kid easy recipes for her.:)
Poor Sophie has been on an ultra healthy diet. She has to eat healthy anyways but now it is brown rice, roasted veggies and chicken breast. I think she is day dreaming about eating her favorite foods. She is doing pretty well. I am a horrible Mother because when she went to bed I made my husband run out and get malted milk balls and I hid in my room and ate them!!!
I told Sophie if she ate well all week when Nana comes(next week I am getting my Mom and bringing her here for the week) she could have a treat with her--OHHHH-I wonder if that is why she was asking this question?? She loves to plan what she is going to eat. For her birthday she is hitting all the fast food joints ( or so she says) she is usually gluten free for behavior but we let her cheat every once in awhile. She has her birthdays, holidays and Nana days pretty planned out! :0)
@Sharynmarie- your Mom's favorite foods sound just like Sophie's!! Hee hee
@BoniChak- haha-I am picturing your Mom( won't her Mohawk -sorry but that is what I see ;0) licking the plate clean!
You guys seriously rock!! Your are all so sweet to answer Sophie. She is in bed now but I will show her all her answers tomorrow --she will be so excited!
When she said she wanted to ask a question I said no and then thought about it and said "what question?" and she said "what is their favorite food" and I thought , heck, that is not a bad topic to talk about--what our elders are eating, what they like and , like you, BoniChak, if there are any eating problems going on. (except when it comes to Napoleon Pastry that is ;0) so I let her go for it. I appreciate the leeway you guys give me with her! She reallly does get a kick out of this.
We went to a restaurant last week and I ordered a fancy dessert. After just a taste, I got up to go to the ladies room. I came back to find her gobbling the last bite of it! Her face was practically in the plate! It was a Napoleon Pastry and it tastes like heaven! I hope you try one someday!
I hate liver , too!!! Yuck!
Sophie wrote out an answer herself and hit submit before I could stop her -little stinker!! She is giggling now!!!
(I hope she means they skip rocks on the lake at camp and not throw them!)
