I have been taking care of a lady that is bed bound for 13 yrs and now she is out of her money and the state is going to pay me, I have been getting 1500 a month doing 24 hr care she can not talk walk anything. I wondered if anyone knows what I might expect? I care for her because we lived together 15 yrs before her bad stroke and her family just wanted to put her in a home . Please tell me anything that is coming my way or what I am in for.

Bee, please note that Medicaid finds it is more cost effective to place a person who needs 24-hour care into a nursing home then to pay for a caregiver at home. You'd be lucky to get minimum wage on a part-time schedule, and that is before taxes.
