Mom lives with me and my husband in our home in the winter in Arizona. Because of covid last winter, I didn't have any caregivers in my home. But we are all vaccinated and I want some help for a few hours 3 days/week. What can I ask caregivers to do? Obviously all things to do with my mom like her laundry, cleaning her bathroom, sweeping her floor, changing her bedding, etc. But can I ask them to vacuum the living room, sweep/scrub the kitchen, dust those rooms, etc? I don't want to overstep and burn them out but I need some help with these things. Or should I hire someone to clean the rest of the house?
She was a little "challenged" in other areas as well, so she lasted one day.
We feel like we can handle the rest of the duties like we normally do, but this will take a bit of a load off. We plan on making a weekly schedule and say for example, “Can you do these chores every Monday, those chores every Tuesday, etc” and that way there will never be any “When was the last time someone changed her sheets?”
