I have tried simple cell phones designed with the elderly in mind. That worked well for a while; but, became increasingly difficult to use. My latest MISTAKE was purchasing a Grandpad through Consumer Cellular and trying to utilize Consumer Cellular’s “service.”
I am now going on 1 month of trying to resolve issues with the device itself and Consumer Cellular service. The first one purchased had a defective microphone after a couple of months and was returned to Consumer Cellular for a “like new” replacement.
The Consumer Cellular “service” is in reality a “disservice.” I am now awaiting a different sim card which most likely not work since it did not on the first Pad.
I would suggest that anyone interested in the Grandpad research “problems with the Grandpad” before purchasing it. I ABSOLUTELY do not suggest purchasing it through Consumer Cellular nor using their service. It does NOT work!

I would get a landline telephone. Its easier for them. You should be able to get a senior citizen discount. Do your research on it.
