My parents have nightly help from 8pm to 8am, 6 nights per week. Sure, he's paid well, but I should still tip him for the holiday, right? How much? My dad has Parkinson's and dementia. He is so kind to my difficult parents and has taken my dad to many appointments. I also want to know what to tip the one night per week caregiver we have, who is our main caregivers sister. We live in Chicago so life ain't cheap here.
When you are getting old!!! there is always something you can give from all the thinks you collect during your life???
My math may be off, never has been a strong suit for me, but if this person is making $25.00 per hour for a 12 hour shift and about 25 days a month that comes to about $90,000 per year and your 15% bonus would be a hefty $13,500. And if "peanuttyxx" is in the city of Chicago and or a surrounding suburb she may be paying more than $25.00 per hour.
This should come out of your parent's funds.
