BOOKLUVR!
She has been caring for one parent or the other for TWENTY years now with patience, determination and grace. She lost her Mom to dementia a couple of years ago. Now her dad is slipping into the throes of dementia and she is determined to see it through.
Nice going, Book!
A caregiver to caregivers!
Each one of us should go to a mirror and say "You are doing a great job, Thanks!"
For those of you who don't hear those thank yous...I say "Big Thanks! and Nice going!"
She got her Mom out of respite care and has her coming home!
Maybe, if Hope is as strong as she really is, she's going to survive the respite care thing. Her hair must look great, though. Well done, HOPE.
Hooray to all of us..
So, MEN, where are you? Please join in more often.
BTW, with all due respect to Gladimhere, I always check out what you have to say, this reminds me of the old TV game show Queen For A Day! Do you guys remember that? I was about 4 or 5 years old and my Mom would watch it while she was ironing. The contestants were women who would tell there tales of hardship and woe, and the audiences responce was measured by the "Applause Meter". The winner, who had the most sorrowful situation, would receive the grand prize, a set of tires, washer dryer, a dinette set, get robed and crowned the queen. It was truly amazing. It left a lasting impression on me. Should I seek counseling?
Some people come on here and apologize cause they think their problems aren't as bad as others. I always come back with "if it bothers you it matters" So the caregiver of the day is anybody who is sacrificing every day for their loved one.
For hanging in there, contributing, for honest answers, and for being an example for us all.
If you give us time, everyone can be mentioned by name. Not a popularity contest by any means. You work just as hard and sacrifice just as much without notice, so yes, you deserve to be mentioned.
However, this is just an 'honorable mention' since you also are not seeking the limelight, notoriety, or drama. Now take your certificate and get off the stage!
(Apology in advance for bad humor).
However, I challenge others to answer this mystery.
Who is a good and loyal friend to others, but would like to be known as bad?
Who gives really good advice for a long time now, and calls us hun?
Who has an extensive range of knowledge and skills, in many areas, but chooses to caregive out of a deep moral compass and love?
Who knows how to advise others for future employment, but may not consider a career in culinary arts for herself?
Who has recently sprouted wings and we better name her fast, before she flys away.?
Post your answers below please.
You are doing a great job! Thanks! As well as supporting others.
Everyone else, give yourself a pat on the back, you too are doing a great job!
T H A N K S. ! ! !
She is always spot on, right there when needed with the best medical advice; understanding, asks the OP the right questions to get to the heart of the matter.
Veronica, you are so very much a part of the caregiving community. Would not be surprised if AC asked you to be a consultant.
Thanks for being so good to others! You are cared about and so very appreciated!
