I belong to a free/pay nanny site, where I am a free member. I have seen a few people mention about there being a law that states that you must be paid for a minimum of 3 hours, even if you only work, say 2 or 2 1/4. I tried to ask a question regarding that specifically, but apparently unless you are a paid member, your questions go away,and can't be answered. I tried to look it up online, but haven't had any luck in finding any answers. Has anyone heard of this? Thanks!

I haven't heard of that as a law. It may be a rule of some organization.

When I was a consultant my employer had a policy of billing only in half-hour increments. If I worked about 2.25 hours I had to decide whether it was closer to 2 hours or 2.5 hours.

Perhaps this is something like that. The organization has a policy for a 3 hour minimum.

Jeannegibbs, thank you for the info. I thought it was strange, but saw multiple people stating it but couldn't for the life of me find anything about it, so was kind of going crazy, lol Glad I'm not crazy! Well, maybe a little ;) thanks again! 😊

Canada has a three hour minimum. Massachusetts has a 3 hour minimum;
New York has a 4 hour minimum for call-outs, but no minimum on regularly scheduled shifts. check your state labor laws.

Pamstegma, thank you! I looked on federal laws but didn't see anything. I think I looked on pa laws too, but I'll look again. Thanks again! 😊
