Find Care & Housing
If the link gets deleted, google "pro bono attorneys, S. Houston, Texas."

You'll have to check the various listings to find one with a practice area that matches your mother's "situation."

You might also contact the Houston and Texas State Bar Associations.

Call a few or more to determine how much time they can offer for the issues involved, how far they'll take the case, etc., so that you have a good understanding of what they'll be able to offer.

Be prepared to provide documentation on your mother's low income status so they can justify providing services pro bono.

Anon44, attorney fees are a necessary expense and would be appropriate for your mom to pay them for review and update to her documents. If she does not have the resources you should contact the Area Agency on Aging. Contact information throughout the country is available as a menu item above under "Caregiver Support" I think.

Both Univ of Houston & Southern University have law schools and both have pro bono clinics with speciality areas (renters issues, senior law issues, etc). Google Uof H law clinics & Thurgood Marshall law clinics (for Southern's) to get info & call them Monday morning. Good luck.
