I want to possibly join Care.com to get some help for my 87 year old mom, and the least expensive option seems to be the $12.95/month, which means you pay up front (I think) for the year, but the question I have is "If I can't find anything in my mom's area to help her, what is my recourss?" It sounds like I can't get a refund, and just to ask them questions, you have to have a paying account.

Seems like a total scam. What have others done? Pay just for one month, see if you can finds someone, then pay for the annual fee to get the lessor rate if you do?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Care.com makes their money by the referral fees paid by the facility. You usually have to go there to his location to help shop for a place and make decisions. Same thing if you hire a geriatric care manager. It seems by your profile that your LO is released back home again. That adds a monkey wrench to get him willingly to go into a facility. Can you come back to reply what happened?
