Even with the raised seals they can be copied. Long ago, I worked in a bank when all there was were the raised seals. When we had to copy an original, we would color the seal by rubbing the side of a pencil lead over the seal so it could be seen on the copy.

Yes make sure you keep originals in a fireproof locked box. By the way, our originals which are done by an expensive lawyer, do not have any raised "seal". They have ooriginal signature of my mom or dad, 2 witnesses, and the notarization stamp
A raised seal might be used by some notaries but not all and does not mean its more official, its just different (and they use thicker paper).

When my Mother was in rehab they wanted to see the original. So I made several copies and left the copies at home. They made a copy of original and than gave original back. Never NEVER give up original. I think if has to do with the raised seal.
