Find Care & Housing
Much depends on the level of care. Companions are cheapest, $12-15 per hour if not through an agency. Then there are HCA's, PCA's, HHA's, CNA's and rates go up as skills go up. Housekeepers are more than companions and get more about $20. Cooks get more. Chauffeurs are $30/hr or more. If you hire through an agency, they do all the payroll, carry insurance and screen the caregivers so naturally that adds to the cost.

If you average in all the family caregivers who get paid nothing at all, it is probably way below the minimum wage overall!

Besides the factors pstiegman mentions, the geographic location and metro vs rural also are factors in pay rates.
