Greetings. My mother has urinary incontinence to the point where it overflows her Depend and runs down her leg, into her shoes and socks. I need advice on a good shoe that is supportive on her feet, offers slip resistance, and washable. I had to toss out two pair of nice Rockport shoes that were made of leather because I just coudn't get the pee smell out no matter how hard I tried.
Has anyone tried Crocs? I believe they rinse off but I am not sure of the support they offer. Or maybe a rubber garden clog?
I know the original posting is from 2013, but I recently read somewhere in a hint book that new tea bags are good for getting smell out of shoes. I never tired it, would be interested to see if it works. I might try it on my sneakers :)
As for crocs, I have seen on the news too many times about crocs somehow getting caught in escalators.
If your mom has good balance try the crocs but I have the same issue - mom has a torn tendon in her foot so needs support - she has fallen many times and at 93 crocs aren't going to work for her - she uses SAS during the day and easy spirit slip on tennys as slippers during the night - when she pees I wash them in cold water with borax and vinegar in the soapy water - helps but she has two pairs at a time to rotate
