My 79-year-old Grandad had a stroke last year and it's effected him really badly but the main problem is his nose keeps running constantly and he is very aggressive since he's had the stoke. When his nose run's it's clear fluid and it drips all the time and sometime's he doesn't even realise or feels it dripping. His nose drips like a tap it's awful, has the stroke caused this or is it something else?
I'm glad you asked this question, because I had wondered if the runny nose was related to the TIA. Mother's situation sounds exactly like your Grandad's--clear fluid, sometimes she doesn't seem to notice it. It sounds as if the part of the brain that was affected by the stroke/TIA may control the nasal fluid.

Nonallergic rhinitis can also be triggered in some people by sedatives, antidepressants, oral contraceptives or drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction. ..."] My dad (age 78) is having a constantly running nose since he had a stroke and has been taking high blood pressure medication and daily ASS100. Has anyone more info on this?
