I was trying to do some "deep cleaning" at my father's house yesterday. He has moderate dementia, NPD, etc.
Anyhow, I have been trying to replace a totally wrecked screen door for years. The wind has caught it SO many times that hardly closed any more. The screen no longer stay on. It once had nice metal curly ornaments on the front. We got in so many arguments over this dumb door.
I so badly wish I could post a photo of this door. I think it would give you a healthy belly laugh. First, there are "pop rivits" all over, then bolts and washers, then a circle of a pop can and a little piece of wire, then a layer of "gorilla glue", then a layer of "JB Weld" and finally many many pieces of DUCT TAPE on top of the glued places!!!
I got a drill and a crow bar and got that stinking thing off of there! Best therapy for me......now a trip to the hardware store.....whistling a happy tune! Have a great day everybody!!
Him with a Little Debbie (Yum.....). Went out to the garage, and "Fixed" the carpet cleaner. But he forgot all about it anyway. We always keep lots of Little Debbie's around.
If one isn't familiar with Red Green Show, it's a Canadian comedy that once was shown on BBS here in the States. So very funny.... it only appeals to those of us who like to do our own fixing-up. Red can come up with the most clever things just from using stuff in his workshop.
Rivets and duct tape? Sounds like it would work for another of our shows, Canada's Worst Handyman! LOL
I am still scraping Gorilla Glue off of floors, counter tops, window sills. I think you should have to pass a test to use that stuff...like the add says...it holds the world together!
