My husband has beginning of heart failure and had a stroke. He eats cold cereal every morning. I'm guessing half a cup. Should I switch him to skim milk? Does it really make that much difference? That's the only time he drinks milk.

If he were using cream, I'd say scale that down a bit. But 1%? I'd let that alone.

With heart failure, you limit sodium intake. The lowest sodium is whole milk at about 98 mg/cup. The highest is skim at 128 mg/cup. So avoid skim. Soy milk is even higher at 135mg/cup.
