We are staying in her home and we have no place to put it in what space we have in her basement. We have no furniture other then bed, desk, couch / love seat & small dresser. we hardly have places for our own stuff. If we don't want it (right now) she wants to throw it away ( gloves, hats, lovely old handkerchiefs, family photos). She does this sometimes in the middle of breakfast and keeps at it till we go in her room with her.
Several years ago she & my father-in-law gave away a couple pieces of antique furniture without asking (thinking we would not want it) same goes for her aunt's dishes which we were able to rescue before they went to Goodwill.
Glad you caught the situation in time.
Mom gave away stock certs and hid money and bonds and such that I needed for her care. I just found the papers for her long term insurance that I really could have used but she had hidden that as well. Mom has been dead for a year now and it still is a nightmare.
Without those papers I never could have known who she was insured with and no mail ever came as it was part of another benefit that she had and I thought I had uitilized all of it that I could. No one there would offer the info because hey.... that would have cost them more money.
Ya, use a storage unit and at least remove that stress from your life.
good luck!

Anyway you can get a storage unit and box the stuff up and get it out of there? Then you know it will be safe and your mom will not be able to get into it and give it all away.
let us know how it works out!
