My mom has lived with me for about 6 years. She has fallen two different times in that time period and has refused medical care both times. She is fell yesterday and refused all medical attention. I was home due to she had a doctor's appointment which she cancelled after she fell. I took an additional day off of work since she is unable to get up and down without my assistance. The problem is her long term care. She is uncooperative, illogical and makes poor decisions regarding her medical care. I have no help from anyone. I must return to work but if I leave her and something happens I fear I will be liable for her poor decisions. I'm not willing to be charged with or go to jail for neglect. I have called the Tulsa police Department non-emergency; the Senior Life Services; and Adult Protective Services. APS have not responded to any of my messages. What I need is to figure out how to protect her well being, and my liability regarding her care, or I will have to have her removed from my home and into some sort of care center like an assisted living center. I am not willing to risk being charged with neglect or go to jail because of her poor and illogical decisions that may harm her health by refusal for medical attention.
