I am currently watching my uncle take care of my aunt who has pretty bad dementia. He is frequently struggling with his wife taking her medication on time and or at all. I was wondering what people are currently using to help with medication compliance. I've looked at about a million options from nurses to Medminder to help my uncle. I'm not sure what would be a reasonable amount to pay as well as what products work best.
Pills along the top row and down the side meals - breakfast lunch dinner
I placed a big check mark in the appropriate grid and mom would circle it after she took it
She also took credit for such a clever idea ✔️
Surely he does not expect his wife with severe dementia to remember the pills herself! So is he having trouble remembering when to give them to her?
A person with dementia needs someone to give them their medication -- a spouse, a caregiver, an LPN in a nursing home -- someone else needs to be responsible.
Can you explain a little more exactly what this man's struggle is?
