And how do I "vet them" long distance? I'm trying to find a senior care home where my parents will be well cared for and respected. They're currently in a larger facility which does not provide proper care. We've had to bring in additional 24/7 care as a result.
Are there associations or groups that help find these more caring homes for seniors?
I.E. Dad cut his leg (is on blood thinners) and the Sr Aid ask for help from the RN on call, in dressing the wound. She was told "it's not our problem." Sr Aids have cleaned their apartment (it's spotless and smells beautiful). RN said she was even "embarrassed" at the quality of her own staff's cleaning (that we pay for from the ALF). The Sr. Aids are doing so much more than the ALF staff. Which I'm thrilled about, but not happy with the ALF and their care, or even concern.
