My dad is almost 80 and currently has a catheter (waiting for VA approval for an ostomy). He also suffers from dementia and is constantly taking the catheter apart or pulling it out. Even in the middle of the night! How can we secure the catheter so it can't be taken apart? Suggestions?
That said, how it was taken off him likely wasn't done properly. I think someone did a big no-no. You can't put that type of adhesive on a person, especially with degraded skin, without a solvent or something to make removing it easier.
(try Silverts, Buck and Buck or Amazon)
How about an ace wrap to hide it from his view? Would be skin friendly too.
Ask his doctor about something mild to calm his agitation a bit.
