Hi, my mother is a caregiver and makes pennies. I'm talking seriously minimum wage. She has a high school diploma, Associate's, and some sort of medical office certificate as well. She loves her job and loves helping people but our financial disparity is quite bad right now. She's afraid to leave her and job and become unemployed and she works 6 live in's a week which barely pay for our apartment, food, and utilities. Her company pays her nothing as I said earlier. So what I'm basically asking on her behalf is: How does a caregiver make money? How do you find private jobs? How do you actually make this a viable source of income?

Maybe your mom could look into working at a nursing home or facility that pays her more and has benefits, and she will be helping people there also? She would seem like a good fit, and she has experience.
