Do I put dad in another bedroom with the CG sitting nearby.. reading or watching TV? He has started to get up alot in the night, forgets where he is, wakes everyone up. Hubs and I work, and Mom is getting over bronchitis. He gets lost going across the hall to the bathroom , trips and fall if we get him back to bed.. gets angry and says he has things to do! The new meds are NOT working, and we are getting exhausted!
NT's can be anywhere close enough to monitor their client.
I use LED auto lights aimed to go on any time my mom moves out her bed.
It's quiet, effective, and I can see it from the other room. They act as a sort of non intrusive, silent alarm.
You can also use garage alarms ( inexpensive from recycle stores).
Any Television can easily be fitted with headphones. As long the volume is not too loud you can easily monitor the movement noise from client in the next room.
Most televisions come with hearing impaired aides ( sub titles ) that can used instead of volume. You probably have this feature.
The worst thing for a NT is the boredom of a long silent night.Perhaps she could dust, fold clothing, set your parents up for morning meals, bath's etc?
Save you time and energy as well.
